Celebrating Community, Connection and Commitment at the 2026 Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet

The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce recently gathered with local businesses, organizations, community leaders, and friends for the 2026 Annual Banquet at Black Silo Winery.

It was a wonderful evening filled with fellowship, great food, entertainment, and, most importantly, an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations that help make our community such a special place.

The evening provided a chance to look back on another year of accomplishments for the Trenton area and to recognize those who continue to give their time, talents, and resources to make a difference.

Honoring Our 2026 Award Recipients

One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing this year's Annual Banquet award recipients.

2026 Business of the Year – Grundy County Lumber

Grundy County Lumber was honored as the 2026 Business of the Year. The business has been a part of the Trenton community for decades, and the award recognized its entrepreneurship, dedication, family involvement, community participation, and commitment to Trenton.

The Holeman family has operated the business for many years, with Austin and Molly Buenemann becoming part of the ownership and continuing the family business into its next generation.

The award was a wonderful opportunity to recognize not only the history of Grundy County Lumber, but also the employees and family members who have helped make the business a valued part of our community.

2026 Organization of the Year – Grundy County Food Pantry

The Grundy County Food Pantry was named the 2026 Organization of the Year for its continued service to individuals and families throughout our community.

The Food Pantry provides essential assistance to those who need it and relies heavily on the generosity and support of residents, businesses, and volunteers. Much of the work happens quietly, but its impact can be felt throughout the community.

The Chamber was proud to recognize the many volunteers and supporters who help the Food Pantry continue its mission of serving others.

2026 Pillar of the Community – Kathi Brewer

The 2026 Pillar of the Community Award was presented to Kathi Brewer, recognizing her many years of service, dedication, generosity, and involvement in the Trenton community.

Kathi has spent more than four decades serving the community and is a familiar and friendly face to many through her work at Howard's Department Store. During the banquet, her longtime commitment to helping others and bringing people together was celebrated.

Her recognition as Pillar of the Community was a fitting tribute to someone who has dedicated so much of her life to Trenton and the people who call it home.

A Night of Community and Connection

Following the awards, guests continued to enjoy the evening with Trenton Bingo, featuring names and photographs of current and former local businesses. Local businesses generously donated prizes for the game, adding another fun element to the celebration.

The evening also included a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses, providing another opportunity for attendees to support the Chamber and the businesses that continue to support our community.
