Union Coon Creek Baptist Church

Preparations are already underway, and there are many ways for community members and friends to be part of the ministry. Volunteers are needed for everything from organizing supplies and making homemade noodles to baking, preparing turkeys, packaging meals, and making deliveries.

Volunteer Opportunities and Key Dates:

October 23 & 24 – Cleaning and prep, starting at 9:00 a.m.

October 30 – Homemade noodle making, starting at 9:00 a.m.

November 13, 14, 16, 17, 19-21 – Workdays with prep, baking, and other tasks (9:00 a.m. start time).

November 23-25 – Turkey prep begins at 5:30 a.m. each day (lasting about three hours), with other projects starting at 9:30 a.m.

Thanksgiving Day, November 26 – The day begins at 4:00 a.m. Volunteers are welcomed throughout the morning. At 9:00 a.m., Pastor Doug will lead a time of prayer and encouragement before delivery routes begin. Meal pickups begin at 11:00 am. On Thanksgiving morning, volunteers will prepare, package, and deliver meals throughout the community, sharing not only food, but also smiles, prayers, encouragement, and the love of Jesus.

“What started 31 years ago has become a tradition that so many people look forward to,” said organizer Dianna Crawford. “We’re thankful for the volunteers who continue to give their time and energy. We’re excited to share a meal, offer a little encouragement, and most importantly, show the love of Jesus to those around us.”

Union Coon Creek Baptist Church is grateful for the opportunity to continue this 31-year tradition and looks forward to another Thanksgiving spent serving alongside friends, neighbors, and volunteers from throughout the community.
