Welcome to Trenton Area Attractions

Trenton offers many recreational opportunities! Crowder State Park (pictured at left) offers camping, boating, swimming, fishing and hiking facilities. Conveniently located, it is just four miles west of Trenton. A popular attraction of the Green Hills' Crank & Cruise trail bicycle events held each Spring.

The trail is maintained by members of the Club and is a great place to come for a challenging bike ride (or hike) over our trails. Crowder is also home to Camp Rainbow, a camp for individuals with disabilities, that has been held every year for nearly 45 years. Camp Rainbow provides activities such as crafts, recreational games, swimming and water activities, group singing and a fellowship that differs from the campers' normal mode of life. Evening activities and entertainment includes singing groups, Indian dances, gymnastics and dances for the campers.

Beautiful Riverside Country Club is a very challenging nine-hole golf course, and it also includes a restaurant and swimming pool.

Beautiful Trenton Missouri We have four municipal parks, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a football/soccer stadium, and the Ketcham Community Center (gym, exercise facilities, and more) add greatly to the regional sports facilities of the area.

The Hoover Theatre is home of the performing arts, and the Grundy County Museum provides an interesting look back in time.

Beautiful Trenton Missouri When you come to Trenton, bring your appetite. We offer a variety of menus to choose from, ranging from the old- fashioned, country cooking of Lakeview to the enormous buffet at China 1 Buffet.

You'll find plenty of room at the inn - we have two hotels & a cozy bed & breakfast- Lakeview Motor Lodge and Knight's Inn. For those wanting to experience the flavor of the area, the Hyde Mansion is our local Bed & Breakfast. If you're looking to stay a bit longer, be sure to check out Cottage in the Cove

Grundy County Museum

Beautiful Trenton Missouri The Grundy County Museum normally opens for tours each May. Museum hours are Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 p.m. with other times available by appointment.

The museum was dedicated in 1976 by the Grundy County Historical Society. The two-story building, in which the museum is located, was built in 1895 by William A. McVay. The building was originally used to sell implements, buggies, purchasing of grain and feed. It subsequently was purchased by Harry Witten, John Peery, Alfred Witten, and Guy Ratliff. The Hoover family purchase the building in the 1940s. The late Bert and Rose Hoover donated the building and land on which it sits to the Historical Society in 1974.

Exhibits include: Indian Territory, Weaving Room, Country School Room, Country Store, Country Post Office, and many others. We hope you'll stop by for a trip back in time!
